DRAGON LINK TRANSMITTER EMERGENCY FIRMWARE UPDATE:

If your Dragon Link Transmitter is not recognized by the GUI configuration program, and will not update, then you have a firmware error.  This can also be indicated by a SOLID WHITE, or SOLID PURPLE LED on the transmitter.  This is usually caused by loading the receiver firmware into the transmitter, or some other file into your transmitter.

Use this procedure for locked up transmitters that will no longer show up in the GUI only, Do NOT use this procedure for RED LED, YELLOW LED, GREEN LED, CONSTANT BEEPING or other errors.  Contact us as as shown in the help section for other errors.

SOLUTION # 1:   Use the emergency firmware update mode to load the 17 November 2020 firmware to your transmitter.   Do the following procedure:

1.   Download the 17 November 2020 firmware package from this link:

CLICK HERE:  For 17 November 2020 firmware download.

2.   Power OFF the system.

3.   Put the EX1 switch to the maximum position ( Closest to SMA connector )

4.   Hold down the MENU button.

5.   Plug in the USB cable.

6.  Now you can release the MENU button, start the 17 November 2020 firmware update utility.  When the transmitter is recognized you will see a TX tab appear near the top of the screen, click TX, then the UPDATE tab on the left.  When prompted select the 17 November 2020 version of Transmitter firmware and click UPDATE.

NOTE:   This error usually happens due to loading the receiver firmware, or a different version firmware into your transmitter.  Make sure you download and load the 17 November 2020 firmware version from the download section of this website.

7.   Repower and configure your transmitter using the 17 November 2020 configuration program.

8.  STOP HERE, if the above worked, do NOT go to solution number 2.

Solution # 2:    If the above solution does not work:

1.  Download the Next Generation Firmware package from the link below.   Once downloaded, open the file named DragonLinkFirmwareUpdatexxxx_xx_xx.exe

2.  Connect your Dragon Link transmitter to the computer, and WAIT until you see the transmitter ID in the box.  This can take from 1 -  30 seconds.  There is no need to wait past 30 seconds.

3.   Chose SELECT FIRMWARE, then chose the 17 November 2020 Transmitter firmware file that you previously downloaded.  DO NOT chose the later version beta firmware that was included with this download.

4.   Click the UPLOAD button, you will see the progress bar progress slowly as it takes over 60 seconds to update the firmware.

5.  Reboot and configure the transmitter using the 17 November 2020 GUI, NOT the later version GUI in this last download link.

V3 MICRO RECEIVER EMERGENCY FIRMWARE UPDATE:

SYMPTOMS:   Receiver is locked up, Only the RED LED on the micro receiver lights up when powered, will not bind, and the receiver will not respond to or be recognized by the GUI software.   NOTE:  Do NOT use this procedure for a receiver that will simply not bind, but is recognized by the GUI software, that is a different issue.

SOLUTION:    Use the Emergency Firmware Update mode to load the proper firmware into your receiver.   This problem is usually caused by loading the Transmitter firmware, or old firmware into your Micro Receiver.   Download the latest firmware version from this website and use the following procedure to update it:

1.   Power OFF your receiver.

2.   Put a standard computer jumper, or use any piece of metal to JUMP the RSSI signal pin to the CENTER pin of the receiver as shown in the picture below.

3.   Plug in the USB cable.

4.  Now you can release the short, or remove the jumper, start the firmware update utility and load the latest receiver firmware.  Note, make sure you choose the latest and RECEIVER firmware since this problem is usually caused by loading the wrong firmware version into the receiver.
